Flight Boutique is a boutique on Main Street in Park City Utah. It is a favorite destination for women’s apparel & accessories – kids too! The store was founded in 2009 by Kristen Doyon and Blaire Isleib. Flight Boutique is my client and Kristen and Blaire are my friends from college! Blaire and I were in a sorority together and lived in New York at the same time post grad.

These ladies have built something fantastic in their hometown of Park City. They have *prime* real estate on Historic Main Street. Can you imagine having a store filled with amazing clothes and having foot traffic right at your doorstep?! I have been in retail a long time (ahem 1998 high school job!), and these ladies have it: Passion, drive, business sense, style, and creativity. Blaire and Kristen also have hearts of GOLD. They love their community and give back regularly. For example, they have ALL profits on Giving Tuesday (not just a portion) to the Park City Community Foundation. They are so inspiring.

They do a series on their email and blog featuring the ladies of flight. I was honored when they offered to include me in the series. Even though I am a freelancer, it made me feel like part of the team. Such a lovely gesture. It is the little things that make it clear I am working with the right people.

LADIES OF FLIGHT INTERVIEW

Name? Kelly Edmonson

Where are you from? Originally from Tucson Arizona, went to U of U in Salt Lake City, then moved to New York City to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology and work. Lived in San Francisco for a few years then LA for 12 years.  Now, I am living the good life in Phoenix Arizona.

Tell us a little about yourself? I am a creative person and also a planner. I have a natural curiosity, so I love to learn and have new experiences. My dog Ziggy is my soulmate, I know the importance of kindness, and I love anything related to Pride & Prejudice.   I am an extroverted introvert and a natural blonde currently moonlighting as a redhead.

What do you like to do for fun? I love to travel, search for art books in thrift stores, and do crossword puzzles.

How long have you worked at Flight? I have been working with the ladies for about 8 months! 

What is your favorite part of working at Flight? There are too many favorites.  Blaire and Kristen are the best – amazing business women with the best fashion sense. They both love the environment and are incredibly giving, I truly admire that. I have always loved fashion, retail, and nice people … Flight is all of those things in one! 

Favorite spot in Park City (other than Flight!)? All of Main Street is pretty cool, I like to take time to walk up and down to visit all the shops to see all of the things.  The last time I was visiting Park City, some friends and I ended up with a great table on the rooftop patio of the No Name Saloon. Loved having a birds-eye view of Main Street and the surrounding area on a beautiful warm day.

Flight boutique was is the brainchild of two best friends Kristen Doyon and Blaire Isleib.  They grew up together in Park City, Utah and attended college at the University of Utah.  After college Blaire headed to New York to work under famous stylist, Lori Goldstein, working on shoots for W magazine and Vogue, hundreds of ad campaigns, and with celebrity clients.  Kristen headed to Los Angeles to begin her Public Relations career with fashion brands such as One Teaspoon, Sheri Bodell, and Pianegonda jewelry.
